Giancarlo Leone, P.E.

Chief Executive Officer, Principal Engineer

Giancarlo “GC” Leone holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Power Emphasis), and Master of Science in Engineering and Technology Management, all from the Colorado School of Mines. He has been involved in power system engineering since 2004, and his technical curiosity has afforded him opportunities to work in many areas of the industry.
Giancarlo’s vision is “Engineering, rooted in excellence, for the greater good.” He is a champion for the personal, professional, and technical development of SR3 employees; the redefinition of the client-consultant experience; and the stewardship of our abilities for the advancement of the industry.

Much of his free time is devoted to several professional organizations, including IEEE Standards Association, IEEE Denver PES/IAS chapter, CDEGS Users’ Group, and NACE. The rest is spent camping, traveling, and anything else involving family and friends.

Dennis Kastsianok, P.E.

Chief Operating Officer, Principal Engineer

Dennis holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of Washington, St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Belarusian National Technical University. His 16+ years of engineering experience is in substation physical and protection & control design, but he is constantly taking on new challenges and learning new skills. 
Dennis is actively involved in the CDEGS Users’ Group and has served in several roles on its executive committee. He came to the United States back in 2006 with his wife Mila and settled in Denver, Colorado.  Dennis enjoys camping trips with his family and friends, plays a mean game of pickleball, and considers art of photography as a means of communication with the world.

 Nicole Crowe, P.E._

Lead Electrical Engineer

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Electrical Specialty, and her Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Power Emphasis,) both from the Colorado School of Mines. Nicole has experience with detailed substation protection & control design, detailed substation physical design, grounding studies, shielding studies, arc flash studies, distribution coordination (sectionalizing) studies, transmission coordination studies, and AC induction studies.

Nicole grew up in Evergreen, spending lots of time in the mountains of Colorado. Her favorite spot is a little town called Grand Lake where her family spent most of the weekends waterskiing and snowboarding. She is an avid volleyball player and is pretty much ready for a game at all times!

 Andrea Helmig, P.E.

Lead Electrical Engineer

Andrea attended University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2014. Since then she has been involved in various aspects of the power industry, but she particularly enjoys power system protection, grounding studies, arc flash analyses, coordination studies, short-circuit analyses, and AC interference studies (AC induction).

After spending the first twenty-two years of her life in the Midwest, Andrea left Missouri to be closer to the Rockies she so loves. In her free time, she enjoys all the activities the mountains have to offer.

Jaden Ranzenberger

Electrical Engineer

Jaden holds a bachelors of science in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. As an engineer, he is involved in client facing work, supporting studies for IEEE 81, and various other company sponsored efforts, like the Mines Capstone senior design team. He also supports the company branding and automation of business processes.

Jaden is the student representative for the IEEE Denver PES/IAS section, and the President of the Mines IEEE chapter. Jaden was born in Pasadena, California, and grew up in Colorado. Apart from engineering, he is a serial self-improver, and loves design and the arts.

Jessica Taylor, P.E.

Lead Electrical Engineer

Jessica holds a  Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Specialty) from Colorado School of Mines and has since worked for the US BOR, an electric utility, and the consulting sector. Her background is primarily in substation engineering (protection & control and physical design). She also has experience with power plant retrofits, relay settings, arc flash studies, and project management.
Jessica recently moved back to the US after four years in a small town in Queensland, Australia, where she began raising her two kids. She enjoys anything active and creating great memories with her family.

Nur Umar

Electrical Engineer

Nur holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado Boulder.
She currently works on substation design projects, arc flash studies, and grounding and AC interference studies at SR3 Engineering.
 
Her passion for lifelong learning drives her to go outside of her comfort zone. Nur has a passion for languages - she is fluent in English, Malay, and Hebrew, and can understand and speak some Arabic. She is actively involved in IEEE, SWE, Toastmasters, and several volunteer organizations. When she’s not working or volunteering, she enjoys cooking and exploring unfamiliar multicultural restaurants with friends. She also sings and plays electric guitar.

Kris Johnson, PE

Lead Civil/Structural/T-Line Engineer

Kris holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Civil Specialty from the Colorado School of Mines. He has experience with detailed civil/structural design of high-voltage substations, overhead and underground transmission lines, overhead distribution lines, and a variety of other foundation systems and structures. Kris also has significant experience in project management from project conception through completion, including design and construction phases.

Kris grew up in Denver playing several sports and spending time in the Colorado mountains. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family.

Letysha Bergstad

Senior Substation Designer

Letysha holds a Bachelor's of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona but comes to SR3 with a unique background of experience working in the electrical utility industry as a substation designer and CAD Manager. She has spent over eight years working in designing and developing CAD standards and training specifically designed around substations and protection and controls design. 

 

Letysha grew up in the small mountain town of Flagstaff, Arizona but now resides with her fiance and six kids in Vail, Arizona. In their free time, Letysha and her fiance enjoy designing and converting retired school buses into RV's. As a family they enjoy traveling, hiking, backpacking, boating and Letysha's personal favorite, fishing
